The current progress of the development projects being implemented in the district and the problems arising during their implementation were discussed here.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Mr. Prasanna Ranatunga informed the district coordination committee today about the program implemented at the district level under the 10 Special Rural Development Program in conjunction with the "Kandukara Dasakaya 2024 - 2023" economic program based on the concept of the President. The minister said that this money will be used only for projects that can be completed by 31st of July and that an amount of one lakh thousand rupees will be given to one divisional secretariat and under this, 544 domains out of 567 domains in Badulla district will receive allocations. Under this, the program is to be implemented covering all the 15 divisional secretariat divisions of Badulla district, the minister further mentioned.
The Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena pointed out that there are many roads to be repaired in the Badulla district, giving priority to the development of rural roads and further discussed the problems and needs related to the transport services operated by the Sri Lanka Transport Board in the district.
Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, State Ministers Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, Tenuka Vidanagamage and the political authority including MP Tissa Kuttiarachchi, Badulla District Secretary Prabhat Abeywardena, Urban Development and Housing Ministry Secretary MS Satyananda, Uva Provincial Deputy Chief Secretary (Administration) ) Mr. DBMR Ranjith, many government officials and heads of institutions including divisional secretaries participated.
