As a district prone to frequent disasters, the Disaster Management Center and the Badulla District Secretariat jointly organized Pre-training on preparedness for emergency disaster response near Ella town on 16.10.2025, involving all government institutions in the Badulla district, with the aim of further strengthening the preparedness and coordination for emergency disaster response in the Badulla district, improving search and rescue capabilities and saving lives.

The rehearsal was supported by Badulla District Secretary Prabath Abeywardena, Uva Provincial Governor Attorney Kapila Jayasekara, Ella Divisional Secretary, Badulla Municipal Council, 112, officers representing the Brigade Headquarters, Army Camp Eladaluwa, Police Station Badulla, Divisional Council, 1990 National Emergency Ambulance Service, Badulla Teaching Hospital and rescue teams.
